Job Description:
Rivian is looking for a technical writer to rewrite test procedures performed by assembly line workers at our factory in Normal, Illinois
The writer in this position will work closely with software developers and assembly line workers
This position will require being at the factory during the information gathering phases of the project.
This is what you'll do:
• Rewrite test procedures used by assembly line workers by removing technical terminology and making them clear and easy to understand.
• Develop a plan to define this project and track its progress.
• Work with software developers, assembly line workers, and other subject matter experts on review and approval of procedures to ensure that they are complete, accurate, and easy to comprehend.
• Additional responsibilities for this position may include the development of other types of factory work instructions.
This is what you'll need:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, technical writing, engineering, or technology
• 2+ years of experience creating professional documentation
Experience creating manufacturing work instructions is preferred.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems, work with ambiguity, and be self-motivated.
• Ability to manage tasks and information flow using collaboration software such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and Lucidchart.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.
