‭ Computational Biologist-OMNI

Bayone Solutions Inc California, US (Onsite) Full-Time

Project Goal: Develop computational infrastructure and analysis approaches to establish spatial

transcriptomics as a tool for target discovery and mechanistic modelling in IBD.

Spatial transcriptomics is rapidly becoming a key molecular data modality in clinical settings, with the potential

to reveal how pathogenic and homeostatic cellular processes transform the tissue architecture in IBD. The

candidate will develop and utilize supervised and unsupervised ML/AI methods to spatially map cell states,

identify pathology defined spatial features, and infer cell co-locolization. The project will include statistical

modeling of the association between inferred spatial features and disease status aiming to inform prioritization

of pathogenic cell states and Client therapies, thereby enhancing target identification and prioritization efforts in

IBD.

The specific tasks include:

Optimization of ML/AI approaches for spatial mapping of cell-states based on scRNA-seq reference

atlases

Utilization and development of computational methods for classification of pathologist-defined features

Analyses of co-localization of cell-states and transcriptional programs with respect to the tissue

architecture

Statistical testing the association of spatial spatial features with clinical covariates.

Who You Are

PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related field with 3-5 years of experience. Post-doctoral

or industry experience is preferred.

A strong computational background, in-depth knowledge in immunology and have proven experience in

single-cell and/or spatial immune profiling.

Experience in analysis of immune mediated inflammatory diseases is a plus.

Demonstrated experience in applying AI/ML methods to large multidimensional datasets.

Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and experience with bioinformatics

tools and databases are essential.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills are also required to effectively interact with

computational biologists, experimental scientists, and clinicians.

Expertise in immunology is required; expertise in IBD preferred.
