Job description
CLient is helping our client hire a Vehicle Assembly Technician to support the pre-assembly, kitting, and mechanical preparation of test systems for research and development (R&D) projects.
In this role, you'll work with engineers to build and maintain test setups, organize materials, and ensure seamless project execution. You'll get to continue your professional growth through hands-on experience with test systems, fabrication techniques, and engineering processes, while collaborating with a team that values efficiency, precision, and teamwork.
We're looking for someone that has 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, test system support, or a related field. The ideal candidate will be eager to apply their expertise in mechanical systems, detail-oriented, reliable, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, technical environment.
As a Vehicle Assembly Technician, you'll:
- Assist with pre-assembly, pinning, and organizing parts for builds, ensuring all materials are prepared for testing.
- Build, operate, and maintain test fixtures, setups, and related equipment.
- Perform mechanical assembly tasks, including working with hand tools, power tools, and light fabrication.
- Manage shipping/receiving and inventory for test components and equipment.
- Support troubleshooting and maintenance of test harnesses, cables, and enclosures.
- Document assembly procedures, part usage, and system updates to improve workflow efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, test system support, or a related field
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly techniques
- Experience with pre-assembly, pinning, and kitting of materials for builds
- Strong organizational skills, including experience with inventory management and shipping/receiving
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration
Bonus Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Jira, SharePoint, and/or Confluence for tracking projects and inventory
- Experience in a fast-paced R&D environment, working with test systems and prototype builds
