Senior Test Engineer (Power Electronics)

THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Troubleshooting DC fast charger PCBAs and units to determine root cause and support design engineers with development of corrective actions
• Define automation needs and work with automation engineer to improve end of line throughput
• Assisting system and validation teams with setup and executing various certification tests onsite and offsite
• Document test equipment designs via electrical wiring schematics
• Work closely with the engineering project teams to ensure test equipment designs align with the software and hardware requirements
• Participate in design reviews, requirement reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs and Hazard Analyses
• Develop test procedures defining specific test setup requirements and instructions
• Perform data analysis and generate reports
• Utilize standard electronic test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and power analyzers
• Use sensors such as thermocouples, RTDs, current, and voltage
THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• B.S
in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 2+ years' experience designing circuit board assembly functional test equipment
• 2+ years' experience designing test equipment for high voltage power electronics
• Ability to create schematics using design software tools such as AutoCAD Electrical preferred
• Familiarity with modular test instruments and National Instruments I/O Systems (PXI, cDAQ)
• Knowledge of and experience with computer hardware, communication, and bus protocols (RS232, CAN, GPIB, Ethernet, USB)
• Hands-on experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting complex issues
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
• Design of test equipment for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) is highly desired
• Programming ability such as LabVIEW is a plus
• PCB design experience is a plus Comments for Suppliers: Looking for an electrical test engineer to concentrate on designing and setting up test stations for PCBAs
This candidate will be mostly working on the DC fast charger program and will be testing and troubleshooting PCBAs and components (Unit level) of the charger
This is mainly for prototype end of line testing (lower volume) MUST HAVE: Experience with high voltage, Oscilloscopes (800 – 1000V) Experience creating test procedures and reports, performing data analysis Experience troubleshooting electrical test setups TRAVEL up to 40% of their time HIGHLY PREFERED Electrical design such as AutoCAD electrical Design experience of test equipment for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
