Vision Science Lab Manager
Job Title: Vision Science Lab Manager
Location: Mountain View, CA (hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months with possible extension
Pay Rate: $45/Hr.
Employment Type: Contract
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and technically skilled Vision Science Lab Manager to support and lead experimental research in human visual perception. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in psychophysics, strong coding abilities, and a passion for experimental design and data integrity. You will work closely with researchers to execute and manage studies in a fast-paced, collaborative lab environment.
What You'll Do::
Design, implement, and manage psychophysics experiments
Maintain and troubleshoot experimental setups and lab equipment
Write and manage scripts using MATLAB and Psychtoolbox
Organize, document, and share code using version control tools such as GitHub
Coordinate study logistics, data collection, and participant management
Support researchers in developing and deploying visual perception studies
Maintain the day-to-day operations of the lab
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of psychophysics and experimental psychology
Proven experience running psychophysics experiments in a lab setting
Proficiency in MATLAB and Psychtoolbox
Familiarity with collaborative coding platforms like GitHub
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a research team
Bonus Experience (Nice to Have):
Setting up and running studies using augmented reality (AR) systems
Experience with haploscope or similar stereoscopic viewing systems
