Tableau Developer

Bayone Solutions Inc San Francisco, CA (Onsite) Full-Time

 

Essential Functions
- Meet directly with business users to understand and clarify reporting requirements and
translate them to actionable visualization tools.
- Build compelling, robust, effective interactive dashboards in Tableau that answer key business
questions.
- Integrate Tableau or other BI tools with various database technologies such as Hadoop, Google
Cloud, SQL server and others.
- Create data models that ensure peak performance for Tableau dashboards.
- Keep current on new technologies and techniques as they relate to Data Visualization, Data
Science, and Automation, and bring them into the team's work.
- Mentor and train newer Tableau developers. Conduct group and one on one sessions with less
experienced Tableau users.
- Help to develop and maintain reporting standards and best practices for data visualization, and
evangelize or enforce them when appropriate.
- Work with the Tableau Admin team to ensure the stability and performance of the Tableau Server ecosystem.


Qualifications and Competencies

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience in an analytical role
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or a social science field with a quantitative emphasis
- Experience in data analysis. An emphasis in retail, marketing, e-commerce, internet advertising, SEO or SEM is a plus.
- Workable knowledge of SQL

Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years in an analytical role
- 3-4 years experience with Tableau
- Working knowledge of SQL and database architecture

Additional skills and experience helpful but not required
- Knowledge JavaScript, Python, R or programming languages
- Experience with web design languages including HTML and CSS

- You must be experienced with framing and attempting to solve analytical questions using data
in order to further organizational goals.
- You should be both technical and design oriented: you have experience working with data and
you understand why color matters.
- You should understand how to communicate effectively with multiple audiences, such as data
architects and business leaders. You can modify your message according to your audience.
- You have a demonstrated commitment to innovation.
- You are a self-starter, driven and accountable.
- You have excellent attention to detail.
