YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of platform engineers to deliver on the platform team’s mission of excellence in developer experience, continuity, security and observability.
- Collaborate with key customers (developers , SRE and security engineering teams)and stakeholders to develop, plan and execute the platform roadmap.
- Drive operational excellence by maturing observability, incident response workflows and problem solving capabilities of the platform team
- Recruit and mentor a team of platform engineers to continuously improve the platform and related tools and processes.
- Enhance our CI/CD pipelines by automating build, test, and deployment processes to improve accuracy and velocity
- Evaluate our orchestration infrastructure and drive improvements to the same to deliver continuity and scalability
- Enable self service capabilities for platform services for developers to reduce friction and improve developer velocity
- Ensure security is at the forefront of everything the platform does by collaborating with security engineering team
- Influence enterprise architecture decisions for critical applications and infrastructure
- Encourage a data-driven culture to enhance performance, efficiency, and scalability of services
- B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent professional experience
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience leading platform teams delivering enterprise workload orchestration, improved developer experience, observability and security
- Strong record of recruiting, mentoring and leading high performing platform teams
- Well versed with distributed computing principles and related architecture patterns.
- Hands on experience with containerization and K8 technologies and experience deploying these technologies at enterprise scale
- Experience operating enterprise CI/CD pipelines in service of developers and other internal customers
- Awareness of open telemetry framework for observability and experience improving observability capabilities thereby delivering improved response and resolution times
- Security savvy and understanding of security risks related to platform landscape in general
- Strong execution bias, can do approach and compelling problem solving skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to influence key stakeholders.
