About the Role:
Batteries are the key to enabling the transition to electric vehicles; innovation around this area is key to increasing range and performance, while reducing mass and waste
Rivian is continuing to vertically integrate major vehicle systems and developing vehicles that support a wide range of outdoor as well as commercial needs.
This is what you'll Do:
Work with Engineering Leaders to deliver Rivian's Core Platform Electronics for Consumer, Commercial, and Energy products for all of Rivian's platforms.
Drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, PCBA manufacturing, component selection, and electronics design, across Rivian Consumer and Commercial Products.
Resolve Battery Electronics Integration and Launch issues
Leading through direct input and collaboration, the creation of, and have final sign off on the following areas:
o Technical Product Requirements
o System design and definition
o Regular design reviews
o Test and Validation Plans
Collaborate With:
Electrical, Battery, Powertrain, Safety, and Thermal teams on pack architectures and technology roadmap development.
Mechanical engineering teams to drive innovation in volumetric, thermal design, and assembly technologies
Design Engineers and PCB Designers to deliver the system
Program teams to resolve product and system issues.
Supply Chain to build strong business and technical relationships with all Tiers
Manufacturing and Quality Departments to ensure successful vehicle build execution
Test and Development teams to ensure the pack operates within specifications with high reliability
Escalate and Report:
Weekly progress on new product development
Key and gating decisions, so they can be made with expedience
Major Product Integration Milestones
