Database Engineer

This JD came from the VP of SW Engineering at Banking, William Tong.  He's looking for Database Engineers in Chicago area.  Please refer to below for job description.  He's looking for candidate with experience in Oracle and AWS database solutions (Aurora and RDS (PostgreSQL and MySQL) and RDS Oracle.  Redshift and Snowflakes are also nice to have.

This role will improve the ability for Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) development teams to implement, manage and modernize databases. Your passion and experience in understanding data, modern application architectures, and database technologies will help solve complex and mission critical problems.

With your knowledge of design, analytics, development, coding, testing, and application programming, you will be a key contributor to the Database Solutions Engineering team.  This role will improve the ability for development teams to implement, manage and modernize databases. Your passion and experience in understanding data, modern application architectures, and database technologies will help solve complex and mission critical problems. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
• Command of architecture, design, and business processes
• Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
• 5+ years experience with Database technologies, migrations, and architectures
• Experienced working in a hybrid cloud environment, public and private clouds
• Passionate about building an innovative culture
