Backend Developer

Bayone Solutions Inc Portland, OR (Onsite) Full-Time
The Team
The *** Marketing Mobile Platform team is looking for a strong server side engineer with a zeal for providing innovative and scalable solutions. He/she will focus on building reliable and responsive microservices services and infrastructure to support mobile app teams. One should be adept at proving designs by rapid prototyping, when applicable.

Job Duties
1. Build services and systems infrastructure using your strong background in distributed systems, network system design, and large scale database systems.
2. Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
Provide strong technical leadership with a focus on continuous improvement.
3. Research, analyze, design, develop and test the solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies.
4. Participate in design discussions and project related team meetings.
5. Partner with other developers, product managers, QA, analysts and operations teams to deliver scalable, fault-tolerant solutions.
6. Practice and improve industry standard methodologies, such as CI/CD, test automation, A/B testing and experimentation.
7. Maintain the highest coding and quality standards.
8. Identify project risks and work optimally to mitigate them.
9. Develop industry and product technical expertise.

Qualifications
Degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent professional experience.
5-10 years of proven experience in back end technologies.
Expertise in server side languages such as Java and frameworks (such as Spring, Spring Boot), scripting languages (such as Python) and NodeJS.
Proficiency with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ.
Track record of REST API design, documentation, and development.
Proficient working experience with design and development of microservices is required.
Proficient working experience with huge data sets in relational (such as Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL (such as Couchbase, MongoDB) databases.
Understanding of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JSON, is essential.
Excellent communication, presentation, social and analytical skills.
Experience with Test Driven Development frameworks like jUnit, Mockito is a plus.
Experience with Agile software methodologies is desirable.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and with small and remote teams.
Go-getter, confirmed problem solver with excellent testing and debugging skills.
Comfortable working with Git in a CI/CD environment.

Additional requirements:
1. Candidate needs to be local, either Portland, or Toronto in PST time.
2. *** requires physical presence to office three times a week.
3. For rest of 2 working remote days, candidate is required to actively working during regular working hours PST (9:30-5:00) and be able to respond for messages, emails and ad hoc meeting requests etc.
4. During the remote working days, candidate is required to turn on zoom camera during meetings.
