Solutions Engineer
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Solutions Engineer to join our Digital Workplace & Solutions team, focusing on our enterprise search and AI applications. This role will focus on development of custom features for our Enterprise Search application, Glean. The role will bridge the gap between our admins and internal business users, ensuring successful adoption and utilization of our cutting-edge technologies. You will leverage your strong technical background in development and integration to understand complex systems, while also possessing excellent communication and training skills to empower our users.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the success of our enterprise search and AI initiatives, acting as a technical consultant, trainer, and problem solver. You will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing our Enterprise Search solution, while also understanding user needs, translating them into actionable solutions, and providing ongoing technical support and guidance.
This position can be located at any of our *** locations and report to our Manager, Productivity Apps & Intranet
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy AI-powered search systems: This includes utilizing technologies like natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), and deep learning to understand user intent, extract meaningful insights from data, and deliver accurate search results. Develop a deep understanding of our enterprise search and AI platforms, including their architecture, functionalities, and APIs.
- Optimize search algorithms: Continuously improve search algorithms' accuracy, efficiency, and scalability to handle large volumes of data and complex search queries.
- Integrate with diverse data sources: Connect the search system with various data sources across the organization, including databases, document repositories, cloud storage, and enterprise applications.
- Personalize search experiences: Tailor search results based on user roles, preferences, prompts, and past interactions to provide a more relevant and engaging experience.
- Ensure data security and privacy: Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive information and comply with data privacy regulations.
- Build custom generative AI solutions: Create custom generative AI apps and agents securely and at scale on the Glean platform.
- Stay up-to-date with AI advancements: Continuously research and evaluate new AI technologies and techniques to enhance the search system's capabilities.
- Support End Users: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to search and AI applications.
- User Enablement & Training: Conduct "Train the Trainer" sessions and workshops to empower internal business users to utilize our search and AI tools effectively. Host prompt-a-thons, office hours and provide personalized support to address user questions and challenges. Develop and maintain user training materials, including tutorials, FAQs, and knowledge base articles. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner. Gather user feedback and translate it into actionable insights for product development and training improvements.
- Solution Design & Implementation: Collaborate with business users to understand their specific needs and requirements related to search and AI. Design and implement customized solutions to address user challenges and optimize search and AI. Assist in the development of use cases and best practices for leveraging our search and AI applications.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in enterprise search engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Glean, including indexing, query processing, and search optimization.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go).
- Experience with AI/ML techniques for search, such as natural language processing (NLP), information retrieval, and ranking algorithms.
- Familiarity with various data storage and processing technologies (e.g., databases, cloud storage, data pipelines).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills (ability to host training sessions, add input to status reports, optimize analytics dashboards, etc.)
