Interoperability Validation Engineer

This is what you'll do:
• Member of the Vehicle Charging Systems development team responsible for ensuring excellence in charging robustness with regards to charging interoperability.
• Perform troubleshooting of interoperability related issues that occur in the field with the aim of resolving on the spot and documenting/tracking issues through resolution with the SW team.
• Work with Program Managers to set priority of the issues and work with the testing/validation team to create test scripts to recreate the issues and add to the regression testing report for testing Client vehicles.
• Create automated processes to assist with field data collection and support for the Reliability team on network wide interoperability statistics.
• Work with Systems Engineering team to create new software requirements to improve interoperability coverage.
• Create service bulletins to inform and educated the service teams as to new known issues in the field and what remedial actions to take when those issues are encountered when charging non Rivian vehicles.
• Work directly with the service team for end-to-end troubleshooting when required.
What you'll need:
• B.S
in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working with electric vehicle battery charging systems.
• In depth understanding of the regulatory requirements, UL, ISO, IEC and industry standards applicable to utility connected electric vehicle battery charging products.
• Understanding of the ISO 15118 vehicle charging protocol.
• Understanding of OCPP 1.6JSON communication protocol.
• Understanding of OCPI v2.1 communication protocol.
• Deep experience with embedded Linux operating systems.
• Experience using software development tools such Jira and Confluence.
• Experience or understanding of hardware and software validation testing at various levels (SIL, HIL, Charger and Vehicle Charging System).
• Comfortable in the lab, pragmatic approach to creating up test setups / executing test plans with a solid eye to detail and accuracy.
• Hands on experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of test scripting for automating test setups is preferred.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Can outline an issue or proposal in a concise and unambiguous manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
• Good team player with great communication skills.
• Self-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it.
