Senior Systems Engineer

 Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure and Networking, the Sr Systems Engineer will primarily focus on the design, implementation, integration and maintenance of compute and storage technologies.
 
Responsibilities

• Design, maintenance and support of vMWare Suite and ESXi environments.
• Design, maintenance and support of NetApp/Pure storage arrays.
• Identify infrastructure and security issues and develop plans to fix or report to the relevant teams. 
• Interpret and enforce security policies and procedures.
• Participate in security compliance efforts (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.)
• Evaluate and recommend new and emerging virtualization and storage products and technologies.
• Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives and timelines.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, site personnel and outside vendors, to provide technical assistance and support.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions of compute/storage hardware and related systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

• 3+ years supporting vMware/ESXi.
• 3+ years supporting Modern storage technologies (NetApp/StorageGrid/Pure)
• 3+ years supporting datacenter activities, including hardware installation.
• Two-year associates or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar discipline preferred.
• Strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience in public cloud platforms – AWS, Azure is preferred.
• Ability to write and/or modify scripts, using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc is preferred.
• Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Willing to participate in an on-call rotation required.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team made up of other infrastructure engineers.
