The Director, Marketing Technology and Advertising Technology Solutions is a key member of Macy's Digital and Customer Organization, with responsibility for driving solution strategy, capabilities delivery and business support for the Digital customer experience, and Paid Media channels (SEM, Affiliates, SEO, Digital Media, Paid Social, etc.) with an extended focus on Marketing Analytics, Media Network, Personalization, and Experimentation spaces
The Director will partner with senior Digital and Media leadership and end users in defining needs for Digital customer platforms, Paid Marketing channels, Personalization and Experimentation, Marketing Analytics and partner integration services and work to enable collaboration with business & technology teams, external technology providers, analytics and various other business functions and will assist the organization with projects that require capabilities available through Digital Marketing solution stack
In addition, the Director also has ultimate ownership and accountability for operations, improvements and user support across all Paid Marketing and Marketing Analytics solutions and delivery across corresponding project roadmaps.
The successful candidate will oversee teams responsible for: Technical Strategy and Operational Support for Paid Marketing Channels, Product / Solution management, Analytics support, Partner integration solutions and report to Sr Director, Data Systems

For this key role, we are seeking a self-driven individual with proven experience developing and delivering upon MarTech and AdTech roadmaps; identifying new opportunities with systems and processes improvements; communicating program milestones; and ensuring cross-project work effort supports the overall vision and strategy
This individual must demonstrate leadership, strategy vision, technical expertise, and strong communication skills needed to achieve cross-functional alignments necessary to deliver enterprise-wide solutions and support structures.
Essential Functions
Drive vision, strategy and delivery around Paid Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Experimentation and Personalization initiatives -
Develop Product /Solution Vision and Roadmap for Web and Mobile App
Evaluating existing capabilities, processes and business and technology gaps and establish product priorities
Establish, evaluate, and continuously improve Experimentation campaign process
As needed, at the project level, coordinate team efforts and activities between internal technology teams, vendors, and internal/external business partners
Accountable for business operations, issue resolution and end user support
Own relationship with multiple external marketing systems vendors
Drive analytics and campaign performance management across Paid Marketing Channels – SEO, SEO, Display, Paid Search, Affiliate, etc.
In partnership with technology teams, media agencies, and vendors, deliver best-in-class digital marketing systems, solutions, and support to end users
Effectively communicate across business and technology teams to ensure transparency and collaboration.
Expert level knowledge of full stack Marketing Tech providers like Adobe Experience Manager (CDP, Journey Optimizer, Journey Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Content Management) or SalesForce Marketing Cloud
Expert level knowledge in support of Paid Search publishers, Affiliate partners, DSPs, Programmatic and Paid Social channels, DMPs, Audiencing tools, Ad ops processes, etc.
Expert in data engineering aspects like data feeds, data warehouses, cloud infrastructure
Adept in Google BigQuery, JavaScript, Analytics Tagging Implementation and Tag Management (Tealium), Adobe Analytics (or similar)
Experience with Marketing Analytics and reporting, marketing attribution – last click and multi-touch
Anticipate upstream and downstream project impacts and work with internal business and technical groups to adjust business tools and practices to support new features and functionality.
Oversee management and operations of integration with different Marketing Partners.
Lead and guide the team for resolution of complex solution stack and technology problems.
Review risks and drive corrective actions to mitigate risks
Escalate to appropriate level of management.
Work with Data Systems, Analytics, and Media leadership to set and execute objectives for the team.
Lead, coach, cultivate and manage the members of Personalization and Marketing Solutions team
Provide direction, guidance, and priority
Ensure individual career growth goals are being met by team members.
Provides direction and directives to direct reports in the performance of their duties, establishing work priorities, and in achieving company initiatives.
Build and cultivate culture of innovation, engagement, agility, collaboration, and openness.
Update and develop reporting to help visibility and tracking of team performance
Manage rapidly growing organization, currently consisting of 10+ FTE and contractors.
Responsible for team expense and project budget planning, forecasting, reconciliation, and expenditure
Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
10+ years of experience in product management, management consulting, digital and marketing operations or related field
4+ years of experience in customer experience platforms like Adobe Experience Platform or SalesForce Marketing Cloud
4+ years of direct supervisory experience and talent development
Experience with Marketing Channels (SEM, SEO, Paid Social, Display, etc) technology solutions, tools, and operations
Experience with Web Analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics
Experience with A/B Testing tools such as Adobe Target and Optimizely
Experiment with DTM tools such as Tealium and Ensighten
Highly analytical and details-oriented with strong data management skills
Strong business writing and presentation development skills
Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to drive Product Vision and Solution and manage and mitigate risks for successful delivery of projects
Strong leadership profile and excellent negotiation skills
Proven ability to manage cross functional team efforts to achieve project success
Proven ability to build teams and develop talent
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize efforts and maximize the value of allocated resources
