EXPECTED DURATION: 6 months MAX BILL RATE: ***/hr Infrastructure Engineer // Expert Solutions Systems Engineer General Duties Were looking immediately for in an IT contractor
Note: NavigatorX is a Sony product and specific knowledge of NavigatorX is not required, but the tools and technologies around it are (e.g., VMWare, network configuration, etc.) These include duties that might be shared between multiple projects, and act as a support role for (especially) NavigatorX development, but also other projects
VMWare/Virtual Machines: o Maintain and update multiple VMWare ESXi/vSphere installations o Create and maintain various Windows servers o Create and maintain various Windows Virtual Machines Windows Server/Desktop maintenance: o Install various Windows Server/Desktop versions o Install required Antivirus/Security Tools o Manage Patch rollouts Windows Domain Controller: o Maintain Windows DC, including understanding of domain ownership in a multi domain network Backup Management: o Maintain consistent backup procedures for critical systems Network Management: o Maintain existing network switches NAS/SAN: o Manage NAS devices, updates, etc
NavigatorX Responsibilities Customer Pre-Sales Support: o Work with customer and sales team to understand current network topology and requirements gathering o Work with customer's IT departments to plan software/hardware installations Coordinate installation on physical server hardware of NavigatorX o Includes configuration of Windows Server 2019, Dell hardware Remotely connect (TeamViewer, RDP, etc.) to customer installations to update, patch, troubleshoot existing installations Database: o Familiarity with Postgres in both Windows and Linux environments o Able to configure, maintain clustered database(s) o Backup/Restore procedures for database backups Load Balancer: o Familiarity with both software and hardware load balancers preferred
o Plus if familiar with industry standard load balancers such as HAProxy, NGINX, F5, etc
HA: o Familiarity with and experience in setting up HA (High Availability) systems and the concepts Customer Support: o Triage, investigate, and support customer support requests (IT tickets) related to infrastructure o Help with maintenance issues, license expirations, custom patching, etc
Job Requirements (Physical/etc.) Availability to travel as required to customer and other Sony locations (< 15% travel?) Able to lift server equipment into racks Able to physically visit data centers (Madison, WI, or San Jose, CA) Cloud (Ideal Candidate) Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure Kubernetes/containerization fundamentals and configuration Comfortable in Cloud and Hybrid environments
