Autonomous Vehicle Triage Engineer (Mountain View)

Client's is helping our client hire Autonomous Vehicle Triage Engineers to play a critical role in daily autonomous vehicle operations.

In this role, you will serve as a key technical resource, supporting advanced on-vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting for escalated mechanical, electrical, and software issues.

We're looking for candidates with strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal vehicle uptime and safe, efficient deployments.

As an Autonomous Vehicle Triage Engineer, you'll:

• Execute triage workflows for autonomous vehicle (AV) fleet issues from initial fault detection to advanced diagnostics and resolution tracking.
• Perform hands-on diagnostics and root cause analysis on AV hardware, software, and calibration systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support validation of vehicle changes, including testing of hardware, software updates, and calibration modifications.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of triage standard operating procedures , tools, and service level agreements.
• Participate in root cause investigations for recurring failures, capturing detailed technical data to inform long-term solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all triage and validation activities to ensure traceability and support knowledge sharing.
• Escalate unresolved or systemic issues to the appropriate engineering or operations teams, with detailed context and recommendations.
• Communicate findings clearly and effectively, translating technical issues into insights for peer teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical job experience or a technical degree
• Experience with troubleshooting issues on computers or other hardware
• Data entry experience
• Demonstrated to be highly detail-oriented

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience in the following:
  • Fleet Management Systems (e.g., Fleetio)
  • Linux
  • Software tools/services like Slack, Jira, Confluence, and Google Workspace
  • Autonomous vehicles or automotive work

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via Client's. It is onsite in Mountain View, CA and open to candidates local to the Bay Area.
